Women’s Mental Health Matters
It’s no secret that pregnancy causes not just physical changes in new mothers, but also emotional ones. Your feelings are not only important to acknowledge, but should be voiced and addressed for the sake of both you and your family.

Preconception
Even before conception, there are many, potentially stressful factors that can weigh on your mind as a woman. You may be asking yourself questions like whether having a child is right for you in the first place; perhaps you are worried about a family history of pregnancy complications or whether your current partner is the person you want to have a family with. Regardless of what you are feeling anxious about, our therapists will take the time to listen to each concern.
Pregnancy
When the time comes for that all-important ten-month period of growth, it can feel like those questions keep piling on. From nutrition to managing your prenatal symptoms to the rollercoaster of hormonal changes, it is common for women to feel overwhelmed at this time.
Therapy can help you not only vent your frustrations to a licensed professional and get all that steam out, but equip you with the skills to manage these challenges at home in the future.
Post-Pregnancy
The changes only continue after delivery, with parenthood being nowhere near a universal experience and menopause now on the horizon.
We know that, as a woman, you have a long road ahead no matter where you are in the perinatal process.
Our job is not just to empower you to feel relief along that journey, but to point out the spectacular views and experiences you get to have along the way. To us, your perinatal mental health in Park Ridge is our top priority.
Why We Chose The Crescent Moon
It is common for clients to ask us about why we would choose moon imagery to symbolize our therapy for perinatal mental health in Park Ridge. For centuries, the moon has symbolized femininity and womanhood across various cultures, such as Greek mythology’s Selene and the Chinese concept of yin and yang.
Across the globe, the dynamic moon phases have symbolized the female form both inside and out. Similar to your body’s monthly cycles, the moon also goes through its own. In addition, countless cultures have often compared the growth of the moon to the fullness of a mother’s womb in pregnancy.
However, the moon holds a deeper significance than just the physical, as it symbolizes the feminine essence. Many compare its impact on the tides to the worldwide influence of women. The moon symbolizes women’s true potential in all its phases, representing feminine intuition, kindness, and empowerment.
